I mean, this is my first pregnancy so maybe i’m not 100% in the know  so other bee’s chime in if i’m wrong but from what i’ve read you would be seen sometime between 7 and 12 weeks for your first appointment. They count how faw along you are based on the first day of your last period (For example, my last period was Sept 6th which puts me at 6 weeks pregnant today, at my first prenatal appointment I’ll be 7 weeks and 1 day.)

anonon22 :  You can go to planned parenthood even if you have insurance. I did.

Kaiser sucks. I hated having them for my insurance. I went to planned parenthood frequently when I had Kaiser because I could get an appointment faster and it cost less.

slomotion :  2 missed periods is 8 weeks. not crazy from what I’ve seen on the boards: I’ve seen bees say their first appointment was at 10 weeks. it’s strange they refuse to schedule it now, but anywho..

anonon22 :  I had to wait until I was 10 weeks for my first apt. I don’t have kaiser, though.

Your due date at first will go based off your LMP, but they might update it based on how the baby is measuring the first appointment. That is what they did with me.

anonon22 :  Yes, but its typically vaginal since they cannot see the baby on a “regular” stomach ultrasound yet.

I do have Kaiser, though I’m not pregnant. According to Kaiser’s website they suggest scheduling the first visit between 7 and 12 weeks. If you tested 2 weeks late, then you’d be about 6 weeks along, which puts you on track for getting that prenatal appointment very soon.

Have you been talking to your OB/GYN or just the advice nurses? If I were you I’d reach out to your OB/GYN through the Kaiser message portal. Typically the doctors are super responsive and helpful. Or, if you’re still not getting the answers you want, just schedule an appointment online and go in.

Good luck!

anonon22 :  I have Kaiser! I’m low risk so they didn’t want to schedule my first appt until I was between 8-10 weeks. My first appointment was when I was 9 weeks 1 day.
