Hi bees, we have been not preventing but not trying and this month I haven’t gotten my period (normally I have a regular 35 day cycle and I’m on day 46 now). I’ve taken 5 tests and 3 of them came back positive and 2 came back negative. The 3 positive tests were yesterday and the 2 negative we’re last week on a Friday. I’ve also been super nauseous, bloated and fatigued the last week or so. Meat gives me this weird metallic taste in my mouth and I’ve been getting awful cramps (but I always get cramps when AF is coming for a visit) We went to the doctor clinic tonight and did another test with him and it’s come back negative. He’s suggesting we do a blood test for more conclusive results which we’ll 100% get done next week but I’m so confused – do you think we’re pregnant or not?!

Normally, people on here will just tell you to test. Seeing as you’ve done that and have received 3 positives, I’m inclined to say you are pregnant but it depends on the type of test you took. Some tests are known to give false positives. The blood test will tell you 100% if you are or not so hang in there, you’ll know your answer soon enough!

futuremrsv0819 : If the 2 negative were from last Friday and the 3 positive were from yesterday, it’s very safe to say you’re pregnant. You had two negatives because you tested too early… And since then, your HCG levels continue to rise.

It sounds like you certainly got pregnant. Negative tests a week ago combined with positive tests this week sound like solid proof of that. However, if the most recent test at the doctor was negative, it’s a bit hard to tell what that means as to the future of the pregnancy. Maybe it’s just a less sensitive test than the ones you were using? The blood test will tell you much more. I know it’s hard to be patient and wait, but it sounds like that’s what you have to do right now.

Definitely get a blood test. When that happened to me, it was because my HCG levels were too low for their test to detect it so when a blood test was done I was only in the double digits for the gestational age we were thinking

Gawd, I’m so sorry.. It’s morning. I just read that your test at the doctor’s came back negative. I think the blood test will really help, but I think it’s possible that your HCG levels were low at night. FX for you <3

Go for the blood test. To get 3 positive tests though that’s rare, I’d say you are pregnant!! Keep us updated!

You’re pregnant. Last Friday must have been too early, you didn’t have enough hcg for the test to pick it up but since it doubles early on by yesterday you had enough.
What brand did you use? FRER is the most reliable. Don’t use blue dye.

Agreed that you probably are pregnant, positives in morning make sense, and it’s possinle that by afternoon/evening at the doctors you hadn’t held long enough/had too diluted urine to be positive (I don’t think most doctors use super sensitive tests, they seem to expect to see people further along). The blood test will tell you, and you could take another first thing in the morning test too to check

You are probably pregnant. Your home test was probably more sensitive than your doctor’s test. I would take another home test. If it is still positive, then you probably just took the dr’s test too soon. If it is negative, there is a chance you could be having a chemical pregnancy. I would use a FRER, or whatever brand you used to get the positives before. Good luck!
