Maybe congratulate her on her pregnancy but also just ask that she come up with an alternate solution for your wedding day… meaning maybe a back-up photographer or maybe a couple assistants to help her out.

You just NEVER know what might come up …… complications with pregnancy (bed ridden or early labor)

Mrs. Avo is pregnant and still shooting weddings, I’m sure if you sent her a message she would be happy to answer any of your concerns for you!  Maybe she could help you address some of the questions/concerns you have if there are some things you don’t want to ask your photographer.

Totally ask for a back up and someone you have reviewed beforehand.

My photographer told me she was pregnant, but she had just found out and would be about 2 months pregnant so it definitely didnt interfere – however, if she’s going to be eight months thats a bit much! I know my photographer stopped shooting and reserving for brides after a certain point to avoid any situations arising which I thought was very smart! I would definitely speak to your photographer and see what else she can offer – and if she cant, perhaps you might be able to find a way out of the contract considering this is a circumstance that wasnt foreseeable and perhaps might be mentioned in your contract or be sufficient to give rise to her duty to provide you with a back up plan. Good luck!

While the pregnancy itself isnt entirely a drawback, if complications arise – then there’s a problem for both of you obviously!

Miss Buttons has a similar issue (I dunno if she posted about it but we’re friends IRL) and her photog’s wife is due like, the week of her wedding. She had him write up plans in case he can’t go and they talked about it til she was satisfied (second shooter, etc) so I suggest you DM her and ask how she brought it up/what exactly they decided on!

my friend’s photographer was 6 months pregnant and it was fine, she did wonderful. she was in all the action, getting in the middle of all the dancing. there were two photographers, but she was the main one and doing all of the grunt work.

As a woman wedding photographer who will one day be preggers I’ve looked into these situations a LOT!

It’s very common for women to work up through 8 months.  But yes, usually they establish AWESOME backup plans! Def. congratulate her, this is an exciting time, and dare I say also scary. If she’s dependent on her income (like we will be) I know I’ll be complexly scared of my clients jumping ship or not believing in me.. obviously, at any time, things can happen, bed rest, accidents, etc.. but with a valid backup you should be fine!
