There is no such thing as 2 weeks pregnant. 2 weeks is when she would have ovulated, the egg hasn’t been fertilized at that point.

You cannot expect people to stop living their lives for a year just because you are getting married.

Well it’s not like she purposely planned to get pregnant so her due date would be your wedding date. People get married/pregnant/engaged/divorced/die all the time, and nothing stops for any ones wedding. Try to look on the bright side, what an exciting time for your family, 2 new family members added to the family this year!

Abby is right that there isn’t really a way to be ‘2 weeks pregnant’ because pregnancy is measured from your last menstrual period. So the day of your missed period is considered 4 weeks pregnant.

Just look at it as more joyous news. The pregnancy is still really really early. The due date might not be right.

Is it her first baby?

Just try and bet happy for your sister. Some couples have a really hard time concieving, I do no think she did this “on purpose” to overshadow your day.

You can’t expect everyone else to put their life plans on hold for a year because you are getting married.

@abbyful: the link you posted doesn’t say that you can’t be two weeks pregnant.  I went in for a routine procedure and found out I was two weeks pregnant.  Your body is able to tell when you’re pregnant (via blood tests, etc.) whether you physically can or not.

Look at it this way, your big day is still YOUR big day.  Enjoy every moment of it!!

@soontobewatson: This won’t take away from your big day. If anything it may add to it. A new baby and a wedding close together is a lot of joy for a family.

The amount of joy that can be had is not finite, so she won’t be taking away your joy just adding to the joy of the whole family/event.
