I was concerned about mine. At 28 weeks I had gained about 30 pounds! Luckily, its all been in my belly. I was about 115 lbs to begin with and was worried the doctor would tell me it was too much. He said I was measuring right on track and not to worry about it too much.

Just “weighing in” today again 🙂
I had my 25 week appointment today, and I up ~23 pounds. *eyes bug out*
I don’t feel like I’m gaining fast or eating a ton or anything, and I feel like I am staying pretty active and eating better each week. The midwife was really nice and said, “You’ve gained over 6 pounds in the past 5 weeks…I think it’s the holidays. But you know, the holidays aren’t over yet!”
So I’m a little more motivated to pace myself now, especially since I just revisited that babycenter link and according to that, I was only supposed to gain 15-25 pounds total.

@whit11: If you are worried about your weight (which I don’t think you should be) check in with your doctor. Otherwise just try to make good choices when it comes to food and drinks. I’ve been pretty obsessed with pumpkin spice latte’s lately and the occasional soda in the afternoon (so an unnecessary 500 extra calories a day plus a crazy amount of sugar, right?) – this week I decided that I was not going to get a pumpkin spice latte or drink any soda (boo) – but I know its probably for the best to get all of that extra sugar out of my diet. I’m working out 3 days/week & feeling good. If I feel like I need a sweet treat I won’t deny myself because I know I’ll just eat around my craving & be worse off then I would have been just giving into my craving. I also try to keep healthy easy snacks handy like a mason jar of almonds in my purse, apple sauce packages, beef jerkey, etc.

I only gained 4lbs from week 0 to week 20. Then from week 20-32, I’ve gained 25lbs!
Crazy weight gain is part of the process, from what I understand.

I’m just over 35 weeks and I’ve gained about 45lbs (I was 145 lbs pre-pregnancy). I never thought I would gain this much and I am so scared I’m going to have a hard time losing the weight after. The crazy part is that people keep telling me how small I am or that I’m all belly . I’m hoping a lot of the weight is fluid because I honestly don’t eat THAT much. I mean, I eat more than I did pre-pregnancy but I’m not pigging out or anything. My mom is really tiny and much shorter than me and she said she gained about 40 lbs with each pregnancy so maybe I’m just prone to pregnancy weight…I dunno. The doctor doesn’t seem to be concerned and as long as my LO is healthy that’s all that matters for now. I’ll worry about losing the weight when the time comes. I’m hoping to burn a ton of calories by breastfeeding…fingers crossed. lol
