Yeah, I agree with you there! I think my Darling Husband said “preggo” once and he never said it again after seeing my face. I’m a married pregnant woman and don’t feel the need to make it sound cutesy. Ick! Oh, “baby bump” bothers me a lot too.

I also hate it. Especially “preggers.” It’s “pregnant.” That is what you are.

Yes. “Baby bump” irks me too. Maybe I’m a kill joy.

I hate preggers. it sounds so sick to my ear. I don’t mind prego so much, but I don’t use it.

oh yes, baby bump is certainly annoying. and just bump in general. anytime a pregnant woman refers to her belly as her “bump”, it grosses me out.

Ugh. Cannot. stand. these. Especially when a woman is talking about herself. I feel like it’s so infantalizing– it makes me think of the really immature girls on 16 and Pregnant. Bleh. I’m not a huge fan of “baby bump” either but “preggo/prego” and “preggers” make my skin crawl.

I could never stand any of them.  (Baby bump included)  Seriously, how hard is it to say the word “Pregnant”?  It doesn’t need to be shortened or infantalized.

Thank you!  It literally hurts my ears when I hear people using these terms.  Drives me up the wall.

It used to bother me….until my eldest started calling me prego and even changed my name in his phone to it. Now it doesn’t even phase me.

They don’t bother me. Their body, their baby, whatever they want to be called is fine by me. Different people are comfortable with different things – one friend always said “preggo”, one said “preg”, and another said “preggers”. Being as they’re the one carrying, delivering, and parenting said baby,  I’m happy to call them whatever they want.
