So my pastor will be marrying my fiance and me, but along with his service, he requires premarital counseling. I’m not sure if that is necessary. Did anyone have a premarital counseling session before marriage? If so is it really beneficial? Overall, yay or nay?

It can’t be bad, now can it? Generally you learn things like better communication skills, and other stuff that can only improve your relationship.
