So, our honeymoon is 6 days away and I asked Fiance to send me the itinerary just b/c I was curious. Thank goodness I did because he had my name WRONG! He had my first name and my married name on there when legally it should still be my maiden name. Geez, I called Expedia in a total panic and they were so helpful and nice- all I’ll have to do is bring a copy of our Marriage License with us when we board to prove that it’s me, just married.
I’m sure this thing happens all the time to honeymoon flight virgins, but maybe I can save another Bee from this crazy mishap (or not, we’re probably the only 2 dolts in the world who’d do this. I chalk it up to him just being really excited about my new last name).

Good thing you caught it!

Oh I know! How terrible would it be if they wouldn’t let me go on my own honeymoon because of it!

Are you only travelling in the USA?
We are going overseas for ours and so your name has to match your passport. Domestic doesnt matter, marriage license will suffice but international won’t work.

Good advice. I’ve been married a year and have change my name everywhere but my passport. We’re going on vacation with DH’s family and they booked my flight under “our” last name, which would have presented a problem when it didn’t match up.

@teaspoon: Yeah, we’re only going to Hawaii. Thankfully the photocopied marriage license works. We thought about going to Europe originally, in which case we’d be in a really bad mess.

This happened to my cousin. Our uncle (neither of our dads) passed away a few months after her wedding. Her hubby booked tickets to the funeral using his last name, but she hadn’t changed her name on anything yet. So she was pregnant, emotional, and fighting with the airline while trying to do this.
