I liked that it has no fillers is derived from real food and the fact that it has folate instead of the synthetic version ( folic acid) most of it is organic, non gmo, and has blend that helps with nausea..bad thing is its 3 caps a day and im aweful with pills but i suck it up and take them.

Nena16:  I was going to try those if I didn’t like the ones I picked.

Jacquelinesc84:  I’m taking Rainbow Light Prenatal One Food-Based Multivitamin. They are vegan and gluten free (if that matters). I’ve also been taking a prenatal DHA. They seem to be pretty good – the reviews were decent as well. I liked that I only had to take one pill a day. They are also 100% natural and gentle on my stomach. I usually have issues with pills, but these have been going down really well.

lovechocolate:  i took those also for a while before i got pregnant but rainbow prenatals do have folic acid which some bodies dont absorb as well as the natural form. but i agree they were a little easier to take definately gentle on the tummy and less pills!

I went with New Chapter. I would get something from a natural food store and make sure there’s no dyes and fillers, as pp’s have mentioned. Raw Code is probably great too!

I originally started with the one-a-day brand but got so sick from them. I switched to a target brand of another prenatal and have had great luck with those.

I second rainbow light. I do terrible with vitamins, they kill my stomach and these have been awesome.

I use BellyBar chewables. It says to take two a day, and I usually just take both together in the monring. I also take a DHA supplement along with it.

Check out this website below. They rank the top 25 prenatal vitamins using the grade system based on quality and highest value 🙂

Jacquelinesc84:  I am on unithroid for hypothyroidism, and I take it first thing in the morning, and then take a Rainbow Light prenatal vitamin at night per my endocrinologist’s suggestion.

I take the vitafusion gummies. They aren’t the best out there, but considering I can’t swallow pills for anything without gagging on them and being able to get them down, and since they don’t make me sick I am sticking with them. My doctor even said it was fine. I think ultimately you have to talk to your doctor and find out what works with your system.

I just take First Response gummies but I try to eat very healthy more than anything. The only thing that you really need when you eat right is maybe more folic acid. My Darling Husband is a chemist who tests these types of vitamins all day long. Having too much of a good thing isn’t good because not all vitamins are water soluble. I used to take some from the health food store but they had soooo many things that were at like 200% of your required levels plus these levels are for a 200lb person. Go to Europe and mostly all they take is folic acid. I still choose to take some but they don’t have a million other things in it. The ones from the health food store actually made me sick! Just my two cents lol there are a lot of different ones out there.

I tried Rainbow Lights and they made me HORRIBLY constipated 🙁 My natural medicine doctor said he used to recommend them but they changed something about their calcium ratios and he’s had trouble with them ever since! So he also recommends the Garden of Life ones

Jacquelinesc84:  nature made with DHA. It’s what my doctor takes and is just one pill before bed. I’ve had no problems with them and they’re affordable.
