My OB said that the one’s she prescribes ( are the same exact one’s Target sells. They are made by the same lab and the cost for 200 pills is $7 vs. 50 pills at $35 from the pharmacy

It will sound crazy- but my doctor told me flintstone complete kids chewable vitamins!  The pre-natals I had got before made me nauseuous, so she told me to try the flintstones.  I looked up all of the vitamins on the back and saw they were actually better than the other pre-natals I was taking!  They taste good too!

@PrncssDva: it’s actually the target brand of prenatals. It’s their generic.

My sister also took the flinstone vitamins because the prenatal made her very ill, but they made her also take folic acid, since their isn’t enough in the flinstone. What makes women tummy sick is the iron, so the iron count is also low in the flinstone. If you’re stomach can handle a prenatal is a better choice.

no, just make sure to take them with food. I found they are most tolerable after dinner.

@PrncssDva: I take Vitafusion Prenatal Gummy vitamins. They’re tasty and you only need to take two. My husband snagged a dose to try them out. With that, I started buying him gummy vitamins (One a Day-but two gummies, he loves to point this out). My gummies don’t contain iron or calcium, but I supplement the calcium with gummies as well. I try to get enough iron in my diet without a vitamin until we’re pregnant. Also with the calcium, I think I’m becoming lactose intolerant or just can’t handle milk anymore, so the supplements help. I also heard that taking calcium supplements help with easing cramps too.

@PrncssDva: The one’s I take are actually the target brand and they can advertise them since they are the generic. They’re only available in store. 1 per day.

My doctor just gave me enough samples of a new prenatal on the market that I didn’t have to buy any during my pregnancy.  Did your doctor offer you any samples to try?
