Nature Made. Too Much Information, but Rainbow Lite gave me terrible diarrhea that stopped as soon as I stopped taking them, and they also didn’t have DHA in them like Nature Made. I took Nature Made during my whole first pregnancy.

Personally, I like the VitaFusion gummies the best because they were easiest on my stomach.

Both made me sick but I know a lot of people take Rainbow Lite. I think there are way too many vitamins in the Rainbow Lite ones which is probably why I felt sick (according to my chemist hubby who tests vitamins all day long). Too much vitamins isn’t a good thing. I just eat healthy and take First Response gummies. Love them and no tummy trouble.

I just started a brand called “Best Nest Wellness” prenatals, found them on amazon. They are a bit more expensive than Rainbow Lite, but they have folate instead of folic acid, apparently a lot of people don’t absorb the synthetic folic acid form so folate might be better. The pills are not small, but they are smooth and pretty easy to take (I’m not very good at taking pills). I take them with juice because I find most pills have a gross smell…these ones smell a little herbal to me, probably because they do have some herbs in them to make them gentle on the stomach. The bottle is really pretty for a vitamin bottle too, not that that matters, but it is cute enough to mention!

If you’re sticking with Rainbow Light or Nature Made, I’d probably go with Rainbow Light because it’s got a slightly higher review on labdoor.com.

I like the Garden of Life Raw prenatals. Just make sure that whichever one you choose has folate rather than folic acid.

Honestly, once you get pregnant it might be whatever you can keep down.  I couldn’t tolerate iron or the taste in my mouth after swallowing vitamins.  I managed to get gummies down.  Baby’s neural tube closed.  I think a lot of the vitamin stuff is marketing.  We all want to do well by our babies so companies market to that.

I’m currently taking Smarty Pants Gummies.  They are a bit more expensive and you have to take 6 gummies a day, but they have DHA and Folate instead of Folic Acid.  I think of them as lunch and dinner dessert. 🙂  Amazon had a coupon when I ordered them a few days ago.

subola:  I like one called Baby & Me. It also has folate instead of folic acid. I take it with Nordic Naturals fish oil for DHA.
