Hi Bees! I am trying to grow my hair out, as I have done so many times in the past, but my hair grows incredibly slow and it dries out very easily. I have tried pretty much everything: I rarely use heat on it, wash it only a few times a week, and use deep conditioning treatments every once in a while. I even tried using that Wen stuff, but it made my hair greasy and disgusting. I have heard that taking prenatal vitamins makes your hair and nails healthier, and in turn grow longer without breaking. Is this true? Does anyone have any personal experience with this?

I haven’t taken prenatal vitamins but I do know people who have and it’s true. Nails are so much stronger and everything grows faster. Might as well give it a try! Something else you should do are coconut oil hair treatments. Google them 🙂 These make a big difference to hair!

I’ve been taking Biotin for the past few months and that has made my hair grow quicker than normal! Prenatal vitamins do contain Biotin, as well as other vitamins that will make you (and your hair!) healthier. You can also take Hair, Skin, and Nail vitamins as well (they contain Biotin too). Most drugstores have them.

I’ve been taking Biotin for the last few months also. I have definitely noticed a difference – my hair and nails grow much quicker and are much stronger.

I’ve been doing prenatals and Biotin 5000. THe biotin works wonder for your hair and nails. Although I haven’t noticed my hair growing at super fast rates, I definitely notice that it is much thicker! My nails are also stronger.

Great, thanks for the replies, everyone! I think I’ll try it and see if it works for me.

Be careful with biotin- I started using it during the summer and my hair was growing but it gave me terrible acne. Apparently that’s one of the side effects of it.

I see there are shampoos that contain Biotin; have any of you guys used it? I may purchase some of the vitamins later. 🙂
