Has anyone purchased a preowned wedding dress either from preownedweddingdresses.com, another site, or a store? I am considering this as an option since the dress I am in love with (the Amsale Tyler) is out of my budget and has been out for a few years. I would love to hear people’s experiences, both good and bad, and what websites people used.

@Lizzie1116: I’m curious to read responses to this but I haven’t purchased a dress from there.
Also, that is my current dress obsession too!! 🙂 Way out of my price range, of course.

I bought one from recycledbride.com , which was great, actually found it new with tags, she just changed her mind (simpler dress). I paid for the dress via paypal and she shipped it over w/a nice thank you card, wrapped in tissue paper. $325 w/shipping and it’s selling now for $449 (plus tax and shipping).
Well, then I accidentally found that the replica, sort of, of my dream dress-the Sunday Rose was available at Davids bridal. So I did a quick search on oncewed.com, recycledbride and preownedweddingdresses.com and found one! it was my size and about $800 off the retail price, the lady was super nice and very professional. Only, when I got it, it was a 6P-I guess you have to watch it, and make sure when purchasing used. Her measurements were on another page, but I didnt click that link because I had tried on a 6 at the store and knew that was my size, (WHO KNEW DRESSES COME IN PETITE?, but that’s good for those who need it). Anyways, paypal won’t work w/me and site itself says they dont get involved, so just ask LOTS of questions and be sure to click all the links in the ads and maybe go through escrow.com or paypal to be certain you are covered. Also, it still may need to be altered, so keep that budget in mind. The petite is pretty short and is about $290 to move the train to the front, bummer. Not sure if I have the heart to chop it, so I listed it, we’ll see, if it sells. Either way, I have a beautiful gown and still about 400 off of retail (with alterations) so I can’t complain 🙂

So far, from the posts i have read here in wedding bee, the site seems to be legit. the question is finding the “right” seller since i reckon it works the same way as eBay. i am oogling some dresses there too while waiting for my allure 2513 to be posted 🙂
