Yup! I have a timeframe in my head for when I will design, make (if required) and send the save-the-dates and invitations. And a rough idea of when I’ll do most other major things ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m pre-planning the planning too. Even though we’re not quite engaged yet. lol haha

I’ve have everything picked out already. As far as color, schemes, decorations, venues, etc.

It’s just a matter of tackeling all the DIY projects. When I graduate in a few weeks I’m going to start hitting the planning hard while I’m free all summer in between starting grad school. ๐Ÿ™‚

Pre-planning is so much fun! All the good stuff and none of the stress. I’m pre-planning a lot, too. I think the only thing I’m holding off on at the moment is actually calling venues to get quotes… though it’s very tempting. Fiance is okay with me doing that, since he knows that I’m a planner and that I like planning stuff. <3

@SnowflakeDS: The venue was the one thing I did want to get organised quickly, and I’m really glad I did. Our reception venue is almost completely booked for this year, but next year is quite empty so we could pick any date we wanted!

Now there is nothing important to do until at least July/Aug, when I plan to start the wedding dress search (gulp). Until then, I’ll keep making ridiculous paper flowers and sketching different save-the-date ideas…

As long as the venue and registrar was booked first,  the other things can be done on a more leisurely pace. i am gathering stuff together like the silk bridesmaids bouquets, my own brooch bouquet, my dress is ordered and hopfully be here next week. i have bought lots of little bits and bobs that we will need,  like the vintage birdcages for the tables.  i not only want to spread the work,  but also spread the cost, so early planning is the best way to do that.

the next thing on my agenda is to book the photographer.  things like the cake and favors can wait a while,  but some things need doing ASAP

I’ve totally gotten started on planning and am brainstorming all kinds of ideas.  I want to do several DIY projects & will do a little bit throughout the year.  FI seems all for it & totally listens to me blabber.  He got me a planner a long time ago too.  Eating lots of jarred things so I can save them…  only 4 so far.. lol.  We want a rustic beach bbq bonfire the day before and a pretty traditional yet fun intimate wedding day.

@anne626: We’re date twins!  Are you in socal too?

@willntracy_2012:  I’m going to Vegas end of August for my sis’ bachelorette party I’m holding!!  Super excited & can’t wait for a girls’ 4 day weekend.  ๐Ÿ™‚  Then off to Hawaii in September for her wedding.  We initially were going to get married this October, but with all the expenses, we pushed it back.
