I’m going to visit my 13, 8, and 4 year old (nephew/niece/nephew). They live out of state and I haven’t seen them since our wedding. I’d like to take something with me… and, the only thing I can think of is a big box of candy. I’ve been on a health kick lately, so I’m thinking candy is a bad idea…. especially because the two older kids are starting to pack on weight and I don’t want to contribute to their already poor eating habits.
Does any one have any ideas of what else I can take them? I don’t really want to do the gift card route and unfortunately won’t have time to do a shopping trip with them (so they can pick something out).
Any ideas?! (Ideally I’d like to spend $30-ish).

How about a board game they can play together (at least the older ones can)? Or some awesomely classic Disney movies?

@Koala Bear: thanks for the ideas – I was shying away from those, because I’m not entirely sure what they have…. but, I’ll go hunting and see if anything pops out at me.

Ours are 7,5 and 2 with the same order as yours. We like to get interactive things for them. THe older ones are really into crafty stuff, so we buy the kits where they can draw, or build things. I found some cool wood puzzles at Michaels, and we also have gotten them a butterfly kit and other things like that. The younger one, we usually get him trucks and cars and stuff. The middle is girly but has 2 brothers, so she likes that kind of stuff too, and her younger brother doesn’t mind at all getting dressed up with her! I have gotten her dress up stuff, and now that he does it too, I have gotten some more neutral colors of things because he doesn’t like pink much (our niece wears pink all the time, but insists she doesn’t like pink). But mainly, we try to get learning and interactive things for them
