I am secretly hoping that someone gets the baby a BlaBla doll.  They are so soft!

Awww, that’s really sweet.  You could get the baby a few of your favorite children’s books. For the mom, it depends, but I know the gift that made one of my friends happiest when she had her baby was stocking her freezer with homemade meals.

I’ve heard that babies can never had enough blankets. Things get messy and the more blankets you have the less often you need to do an emergency load of laundry. Perhaps with the baby’s name on it?

For the mum, a voucher for a massage? One with a long time till expiry just in case she doesn’t get time.

I got my friend a maid for a day. She was very appreciative.

A nice warm meal is a great thing, but then again it’s kinda hard to take to a hospital. What about maybe a gift basket with her favorite lotions etc? I know those are always good, and something just the new mommy can use.

As for the baby, something warm and soft is a good start…maybe new stuffed animal and soft blanket?

Good luck and congrats to your friend 🙂

I brought my friend a cute basket full of her favorite treats and snacks for the hospital, since most hospital food leaves something to be desired. Plus, when she’s home with the baby and up all the time, she would have something to snack on too!

I also got her a gift card to a restaurant that does take out! So when she is exhausted, she can just get take out.

I love the idea of a gift basket! I know had NO idea how much I would use the burp cloths and recieving blankets so maybe put some of those in there, along with a favorite childrens book with a note inside (in place of a card), snacks for the mom and a few other little things for her or baby. A friend of mine gave me shower gel, nail polish, fuzzy socks, heat pack, etc along with the baby gifts and I loved it.

Diapers. She may already have a stockpile…but I’ve heard that women can always always always use more. (and if not I’m sure they would be happy to donate to other women who need them.)
