Have the brother and sister on the dad’s side be ushers. I don’t see why the sister can’t help seat people.

But if you don’t want them in it, then that’s your choice. just understand there may be resentment down the road from them.

There are a number of other things the sister can do, have her hand out programs, have her direct people to the guest book, give her a disposable camera and have her take pictures before the ceremony or like ejs4y8 said, have her be an usher too.  It’s a great option since usually the only ushers are men who then escort the women down the isle leaving the husbands to walk behind – she could then walk with the husbands.

Another idea, if you are using a unity candle, would be to have her carry it up the aisle to the stand. Otherwise, no reason why they can’t both assist with seating and/or passing out programs!
