I’m getting married in March 2013 and have already selected my bridesmaids dresses. We (my mom and I) were told that the bridesmaids dresses may be up for discontinuation soon. So, my bridesmaids all drove 4 hours oneway (just a few days later) to get their dresses and what not, only to find out that the sashes were discontinued and the bolero wasn’t in stock.
Now, the dress I chose for my mom (she’s my matron of honor and my best friend) was discontinued about two weeks ago. The kicker is that I spoke with our consultant two days ago and todl her we were planning on coming down to purchase it and we were informed “that’s great, it’s still available, cant wait to see you”.
So, basically I have two choices A. Find a similar dress B. have my mom wear the same dress my BMs are wearing.
I’m a little upset that I wasn’t informed that the dress was discontinued (nor put on sale for that matter), as she said that we would be informed if it was to happen. And that the sashes and boleros also were/are not available. 🙁

That is something to be upset about. I know you can’t do much about that dress now but you still have a lot of time to find a similar dress she will love and feel comfortable in. Don’t let the bumps in the road take away from the joy.

Maybe you can find it used in the classifieds, craigslist, or ebay?

That sux. Can you get different sashes + boleros somewhere else? Can you ring around & see if anywhere else has your mums dress? Would she mind looking for something else? Maybe you can task your bm’s to find their own sashes & boleros & ask your mum to do the same for her dress. Most ppl are happy to help when weddings are involved. Just ask them to show you before buying…

@MLDoddie: My mom said she’s been searching everywhere with no luck yet, unfortunately.
@KellyLouise: The sashes and boleros are definitely not a big deal because they have different styles now, just not the style I originally chose.
My mom had our consultant look in every Davids Bridal in the country and only one store had it in my truffle brown color and it was a 12, my mom is a 6.
I told her she can chose any dress she wanted again this time. I just wanted her in a different dress. And the dress we chose last time was similar in style but also a little different on the bust, so it went really well with the other dresses.
@Elm tree: Thank you, Elm. I’m trying not to lose my cool, it’s just a dress. 🙂
