I am not a big flower person in the least. I like them but don’t ask me what’s what or even ask me to grow any. I have my faves such as tulips, peonies and pink roses. Basic and simple. For me this wasn’t an important feature for my wedding because I’m on a pretty tight budget, flowers die and get thrown away so for me this was an area I knew I could cut down A LOT. I had planned to DIY with the help of a friend who loves putting arrangements together and whatnot. We were going to go to a whoelsale floral place and she was going to put them together for me the week of the wedding. I was going to order all necessary supplies and give her a a nice token of my appreciation.
I only need two bouquets and two bouts. Nothing for the parents. I’m doing non-floral centerpieces and I’m doing a beach theme. Well the design company I’m using for my linen rentals (recommended by the venue) also does floral arrangements. On a whim I asked for a quote. I knew that I had to weigh the time for me and my friend and money to DIY.
The quote came back at $196 for everything I need. I had budgeted for $300 when the plan was to DIY! My bouquet will be hand tied, hot pink roses and hydrangeas, my Maid/Matron of Honor will have orange gerberas and the two bouts for the guys. She will already be at the venue for the linens so it only makes sense. One less thing to stress about the week of the wedding!!
