@babebabe06: I am a nail biter as well and found that keeping my nails painted actually helps me. I got some stuff from NailTek to help b/c my nails peel (and then I pick and bite!). I get manicures once a month or so (and I get mad if I bite that b/c I paid for it) and then do my nails at home a lot.

I play guitar and have a baby, so my nails are always short and pretty much always bare. I get annoyed at how fast they grow cause I start tripping over my strings and I have to stop and cut them again. I love the look of long nails, but it doesn’t work for my lifestyle. My fave is a mid length french manicure. I might just bite the bullet and get a mani when I get my ring for the sole purpose of ring pics ๐Ÿ™‚

I tried the Gel nails and it chipped within days! I have such brittle, bendable nails that ANY polish has a hard time staying on (Of course I inherited my Mom’s nails while my Dad’s nails are super thick!) So I figure whenever SO pops the question I will keep it a secret from anyone who will want pics until after I get a chance to get a manicure lol (Sorry Nellular!)

I have a special date tomorrow and so I did my nails just in case!!

I’m pretty sure it won’t happen tomorrow, I’m betting on Christmas or early in the New Year but… you know, just in case ๐Ÿ˜‰

Either way, now they look pretty! I just painted them – ruby red! ๐Ÿ˜€

@Pinkmoon:  EEk I hope you get yours soon!

I’m getting my nails redone this weekend, but I’m 99% sure it won’t come until after Chrstimas.  I did some snooping (judge me) and Mr. LR is making final decisions on the diamond next Friday!!!  It’ll take a couple weeks, I’m sure, but my nails will still look great through New Years (they are solar nails), so hopefully it will be before then!!  ๐Ÿ™‚  Wish me luck!

I love the idea of getting my nails done after he proposes. I always do them myself (Don’t have much money and I’m a college student) but I think I will go get a french manicure right after I get a ring….It would make me feel pretty and not only that but I’m sure people would be asking me about the enagement and looking at my hands and I wouldn’t want to be embarrassed about all of the attention on my nails if they looked horrible!

If you like the gel polish manicures look into Red Carpet Manicure set. It is an at home gel polish kit and i LOVE it! You get the same salon quality 2 week + manicures for a fraction of the price. I opted to upgrade and get the pro light kit which was soooo worth the extra money. I think the kit shipped to my door was $85. I can’t say enough good things about it.

All of your guys nails look so pretty.  I bought some gel nail polish the other day at Walmart.  First time I had seen it there.  I’m hard on my nails and never fails as soon as I paint them.  They are chipped.  I’m happy with the gel so far. ๐Ÿ™‚

Booked my shellac mani for tomorrow night… then the next morning we leave for our New Year’s trip and I know that boy has my ring socked away somewhere.

I’m going to be ready.

Man I am lucky if nail polish last me to the next day nevermind a week. But I am a nail biter who is trying to quit so I pick at nail polish as soon as its on, even clear. So leaving them bare is the only way to go for me.
