elainebenes123 : Ugh. I wish I could just afford both and wear one based on how I am feeling that day!
Get what makes your heart sing. This is a special piece of jewelry and it will most likely hold a lot of sentimental value and significance for you for a lifetime. You can work towards having a second ring to change up when the mood strikes but seriously pick your favorite and the one you want to appoint the most significance to.
You can also lose a stone or have a quality issue on either ring you choose. Most rings can be fixed and if worse comes to worse it can be remade using the existing gold/stones. Pick what you like and deal with issues if and when they crop up. At the end of the day it’s a significant piece if jewelry but it’s still just a pretty bauble to mark an occasion in your life. The most you can do with it is wear it in good health and admire it occasionally 😄

Could you get the sturdier engagement ring and then have a wedding band made that incorporates some of the elaborate design elements you like from the other one?

I went with pretty and I haven’t had any troubles so far. Like PP, I take it off for any tasks that require my hands and when I workout. I am also very clumsy and thought for sure I’d knock the ring on everything. I actually haven’t hit it once on anything so far! (I’ve only had it a few months)
My FH and I are both getting enso rings after we get married. Since we are both very active, those just make more sense for us. We’ll wear our nice rings on nice occasions, and I’ll wear mine every day to work, but I’ll have enso rings in all of my workout bags so I can swap out my rings before and after a workout!

Another option is to get the fancy engagement ring, but a relatively plain/durable band. Then you can just wear the band on it’s own when you think you might be crashing around.

Thanks everyone! Im thinking I might just go with the original ring Ive always desired, and get a plainer band than I was planning on. There are just too many options, lol!

What about something in between? My ring is the Verbena from Brilliant Earth (with an oval center diamond which I love)? I love the side stones and band design because it definitely adds interest and makes for a unique piece, but the side stones are a little larger so they stay in place without problem. I don’t have issues with the ring snagging on things easier because it’s low profile.

elainebenes123 : Go back to what you know you want. When we started looking I fell in love with cushion cuts and solitaires on the first day. I looked and looked, three stones, pave settings, peekaboos which I think are adorable of all shapes and colors but kept going back to the same thing over and over. It’s what I ended up getting and while I can spend hours looking at others rings I still love mine so much and would not change it

elainebenes123 : i have two rings:a practical ring and a pretty ring. The pretty ring is the one I wanted and love. The practical one is a simple gold band (it was on the cheap side).
