Congratulation!  my fiance did the same and let me choose my ring.  I went to Justice of the Peace Jewelers in St. Charles, Il.  They were very helpful and took time to help me the best part is they do Custom work!  I looked at rings I liked and found this one but needed 6 prongs because of my job (im a nurse) and they were able to custom add the prongs.  The best part is I chose my ring and was able to pick it up THE NEXT DAY!

@stephanieh2012:

so we went to many jewlers in the city- a lot had rings I liked parts of and not the whole thing.

I took all the elements I wanted let the Soon to be Mr know and he had a local (cute family) owned shop, whip this up.

This setting appraised at 4500 (JUST THE SETTING) the prongs are diamonds, so is the band and then the full band is HAND engraved by the store’s original owner (the very cute old father). I know my Fiance paid less than 1500 for the setting…

they do amazing work, are VERY fair and are extremely communicative.

One thing is CAD always looks chunky and not what the ring would look like, look past the sharp edges and such- also a good fair jeweler should do a mock up with out COST

he did 5 or 6 for my fiance before any many was spent- and he’s done two or three for me on his ring.

the place is called gvjewelery.com in Chicago on Foster ave. if you have questions- message me!
