@lioness_89:  I think it may vary depending on the part of the country you are from, but mine is $5500 and include engagement session (including styling), 8 hours of wedding coverage, all digital files from both engagement session and wedding (with full rights to duplicate on a personal level), two photographers (main photographer who is the owner and a second shooter), and blog posts about both sessions.

I’m paying $5300 – that includes engagement session, 2 photographers on the wedding day with 10 hours of coverage, I get a cd with all of the pictures with rights to print, and then I get a wedding album with 20 pages.

I’m paying $4000 which includes an engagement session, a bridal session, two days of unlimited wedding coverage (the ceremony and reception are on two different days), two 80 page wedding albums with editing, a Hi-Res disc of all photos, two 60 page parent albums, and my photog also threw in copyright to all the pics which you don’t really need. We are also getting two large edited photo canvases to hang in our home.

Question… is it possible to get a reference from your Future Brother-In-Law the Photographer.  Even if he isn’t from the same city as the Wedding / Reception, there is a good chance that he may have some professional contacts.  Having a “reference” point, might be a good place to start your investigations.

I am getting married in a small(ish) city in Indiana (Muncie, IN). My photographer will be $700. We will have two shooters day of, as many hours of coverage that is necessary to cover everything, and full rights to all of the images which will be given to us on a high resolution CD (some photos will be edited but not all…she says she took over 1,000 at the last wedding she photographed and we don’t expect her to edit each and every one of ours). She also did an engagement session (we got full rights to these images as well…there will be over 300) and will also include a bridal session a few weeks out from the wedding.

She does great work (in my opinion) based off of what I’ve seen her do at other weddings and based off of the couple of sneak peek photos she sent us from our engagement session (which was done a few weeks back). I was able to find her by just doing some research. I stumbled across her because she had done photos for my sister’s friend and I contacted her from there to get things rolling. She does photography as a part time thing at the moment and is working on her portfolio which is probably why we got such a great deal. Definitely look around and see if you can find anyone like that! 🙂

Also, as a side note, I see you’re from Texas, OP. My photographer will (sadly for me) be moving to Dallas in July or August. If you’re in that area and might be interested in her, I can definitely give you her info! 🙂

Our photographer is normally $3,800 for the package we chose, but she’s doing it for $3,000 because our wedding is “off season.”  That includes an engagement session, all day coverage with our photog & her assistant the day of the wedding, a CD with all images and printing rights, and one set of prints of all photos in a cute little memory box.
