Does anyone know the average price of adding a single halo to an E-ring? My ring is a very simple, solitaire diamond ring with a four prong setting. Trying to get general ideas before I go to a jeweler. Thanks 🙂

@elizabethm1117: That depends on numerous things: how big you want the stones, materials they use to create it (set it in…type of gold, platinum), how big of a stone you have that depends on how many diamonds are needed to create the halo, also the color and clarity of the stones….There really is no way for someone to just guess at that! You need to see a jeweler.

I know of someone that had this done recently. She was able to have the head (the part that holds the diamond; the “prongs”) removed and have a new head with a halo attached put on her ring. Her stone is over 1 carat, so that will play in the price, as well as how big you want the diamonds on the halo to be. The diamonds in her halo were 1 point each, so it is a very dainty halo and she had to purchase the diamonds + the halo mounting. Her total came to slightly over $700. I should add that this was for 14kt white gold.
I recently reset a family diamond into a halo setting, but I had to buy a whole new ring. My halo has plain sides (so no diamonds on the band on my finger) and my cost was $950 also for 14kt white gold. The diamonds in my halo were also 1 point each.

@GelaMac: That seems rather expensive! My new ring was under $1,000.
