I think that’s a great deal!

 Is it reasonable to your budget? If you need to cut costs, can you change the top shelf bar to premium or cut an app or entree choice? Don’t get me wrong, it sounds great as is, but if your mom is concerned, a few tweaks could lower it a bit.

That sounds like a great deal! I don’t know about the usual cost of weddings in your city, but where I am, that would be a steal!

East coast city/suburban area, in the US, would cost you twice that amount (4 courses/plated). And what food is packed for the bride and groom? Do you get to keep the leftovers? We didn’t except for the plates of cookies served with coffee, the mini pastry display in the cocktail hour room, and boxed wedding cake.

That is an amazing deal. A hon of food, top shelf liquor, linens, florals? Your mom is t thinking about all the pieces parts involved if you had to do them separately.

Around here is 100-150 before taxes and gratuity for the same type of package so I’d say it’s a great deal!

In Chicago, that would be a steal!! But you need to be clear about your overall budget and adjust accordingly if it could possibly be a budget buster. Cutting down the guest list would definetly help! But if you’re set on the guest list, other areas should be considered.

hmm… so basicall you’re getting venue, rentals, food service, setup & takedown, and coordination.  

I’d say that I’m paying about $200 per person for what you’re getting, though I’m having a much smaller wedding (45ish?) so the fixed costs like venue and coordinator and setup&takedown all get split in 4.  I guess if I was having 200 people I’d be paying about $90 per person for what you listed.

it’s a great deal! I paid about $150 with the service charge and tax for the same type of package

From someone doing a DIY wedding i.e. wedding @ home in “marquee”, caterer, serveware etc etc I can tell you sourcing everything through an external caterer at a hired venue could most certainly add up to being significantly more unless you downgraded the quality of your food significantly. Sometimes parents are a bit out of touch. I’m sure my partners Mum would have a heart attack if she knew what our wedding was costing!

I looked into some “fancy” places around here who weren’t offering nearly as much stuff for almost the same price. Like, we only got 2 entree choices and 2 sides, and it didn’t include any decorations or set up or anything. and NO alcohol whatsoever. that was an entirely different charge. And I live in rural missouri, vs KC or St. Louis where that would be closer to a base rate.

GREAT DEAL.
