I need some help. After reading Mrs. Glitters post on using Priceline I’ve decided to give it a go for our american honeymoon. Problem: I need to fill in an american adress – and since I’m living in Europe that’s an issue.
Do anyone know if Priceline actually uses the adress? I figured I could just give them the adress for the first hotel we stay in, perhaps.
Any other ideas as to how I can keep hotel costs down during an august trip to CA and NYC would be so, so much appreciated!

I don’t really have any tips but we used Priceline for our wedding night hotel and I am very pleased. We got the hotel that we were planning to stay at anyway—and for a lot less!
I’ve never had them use the address for anything- I would think it would be mainly for CC verification, but who knows. Could you use the address of a friend or relative that’s in the states?
You could try looking at Groupon for restaurant and attraction deals. We have used it for a couple of things and been happy. http://www.groupon.com/new-york/

I used priceline and they never mailed me anything. If you have any relatives you trust, I would use their address. Otherwise just call Priceline directly to ask why they require a US address. Sometimes Customer Service can manipulate the system!

I don’t know about your address situation, but I did want to mention that I consistently find cheaper rates using Travelcity than Priceline. I also find Travelocity’s website easier to use.

Thanks for your tips, all of you! I’ll try to ask a distant relative (actually MOH’s distant relative, truth to be told) if I can use their adress. I was just afraid that something would come in the mail and I’d miss it.
I’ll be looking into Groupon – it looks SO very promising!

I have also used priceline and I did not receive anything in the mail. =)

Do anyone know how far in advance it’s a good idea to use Priceline to get the best possible deal? Will it be okay to book hotels as far in advance as half a year?
