Yes, photography is expensive.  But it’s something you get to keep for a long time and share with others.  I definitely think just having someone there to capture the ceremy and some formals is a good option.  Mr. HW and I took our honeymoon 7 months after the wedding.  It was more because of work and such, but it was also a great thing for our wallets.  Just some things to consider.  Hang in there.  A good option will come along.

We are doing our honemoon later as well. Probably sometime around our 1 year anniversary.

I vote for finding a photogrpaher…you only have one opprotunity to capture photographs from your wedding.  There is always time to travel! 🙂

Weddings are one day, photos are forever.

My hubby and I are waiting till our 1 year for a honeymoon so we can save up again and do something really awesome. We paid for the wedding ourselves and the money we got as gifts went into a savings account to go towards the honey moon.

Do you or your hubby have any skills you can barter? Some photogs {even really good ones} are open to this type of arrangement.

I know what you mean being shocked by the numbers I was like how much for how long? But then a friend reminded me that there is ALOT of time put into the photos after they leave… You also might want to look at the packages of pictures your geting and possibly change that up to make the package cheaper (and get Hi-rez pictures on a disk so you can still print them out if you want to!

2K is well below average in the NJ area.  I don’t know what prices are like in sweden but I do know the exchange rates are not that kind to the dollar right now, so you should be comparing in local currencies.

You can always use your wedding gift money to help with the honeymoon.
