I’m pretty quick when it comes to makeup, maybe because I don’t really know any fancy techniques. I can do daily makeup (foundation, powder, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara) in five minutes or less. For special occasions, I’m more careful and thorough, so it takes a bit longer. But I’m such an amateur!

If I do a full face, it takes me about 15 minutes. For special occasions, I usually apply single fake eyelashes, so it takes quite a bit longer (depending on how steady my hands are that day 🙂 ). Primer adds, like, 7 seconds to a make up routine, and there are cheap alternatives, so it’s no thing just to add it, and it makes a difference!

I’ve been blessed with good skin (after spending FOREVER finding the right products!) so I really have two routines…

1. Everyday for school, grocery store, etc: moisturize, light powder, 1 color of eye shadow, eyeliner. BAM. Done in 3 minutes.

2. Going to work, or “out”: moisturize, foundation, light powder, 3-4 colors of eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara. About 10 minutes or so, depending on the eyeshadow look I’m going for.

Occasionally I do use primer. THIS stuff is fantabulous (esp for the price!) http://www.eyeslipsface.com/studio/face/primer/mineral_face_primer

It takes me maybe 10 minutes.  I don’t do anything fancy.  I did start using primer though about a year ago, and it really does make a big difference.  I use Monistat Chafing Relief Powder-Gel (I know it sounds weird, but it’s common to use as primer haha), which is supposed to be the same ingredients as the more expensive Smashbox primer.

ETA: Using primer before applying my eye makeup has changed my life.

Every day make-up takes me 10 minutes: spray, primer-foundation mix, concealer, blush, setting powder, lipstick, curl eyelashes, brow gel

Special occasion make-up takes me 25ish minutes: all everyday make-up, hilighting powder, lip liner, mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, additional setting spray at the end

And then there are days like today when I am too lazy to put on any make-up. Such is life.

10 minutes, if I do a quick face with just concealer, beauty balm, blush and mascara.

20-25 for a full face of makeup adding primers, foundation, eyeshadow and powder.

Daily probably 10 minutes. Special occassions like a party maybe half an hour.

@hecallsmelove:  10 minutes of sleep vs. looking nice and professional. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying makeup is REQUIRED for women to wear. Half of the time I don’t wear any if I’m just doing errands or whatever. But, as I get a little older (23 now) and am in professional school, I find myself wanting my appearance to be more polished and professional, even when I’m not necessarily in a professional situation. Just something to think about.

It takes me 10 minutes for a full face–I’ve got it down to a science. Darling Husband even got me this fabulous drawer organizer that has little compartments for all of the different things, so it’s easy to find everything now.

The only time I don’t wear makeup is walking my dog in the morning and running to the grocery store on Sunday. I don’t know why the grocery store is the only place that doesn’t qualify for makeup…maybe because I never run into anyone I know there!

I read the title of your thread and said to myself:  primer primer everywhere – lo and behold your post didn’t disappoint.

0-10 minutes daily (sometimes I wear nothing at all)

20-30 if it’s a special occasion.

@hecallsmelove:  I like the extra sleep too.  But if I’m up in time, I’ll do it 🙂

I spend about 3 minutes on my daily makeup (primer and foundation, that’s it). Special occasions will be more like 10-20.  I have really sensitive eyes, so I just can’t wear eye makeup on a daily basis without them hating me.

That said, I am pretty no-nonsense when it comes to makeup, and I found that adding a primer was an AMAZING change. I have really rosy cheeks, and using a green primer (I think my current one is from Smashbox…I used to use a Sephora one that they discontinued) really evens out my skin tone.
