I love my princess cut. I knew that I wanted it from the start. It sparkles like mad in the right light. I never really envisioned myself with other cuts. It was always a princess cut for me.

i love my cushion cut – i was torn between cushion and princess too – i always thought i wanted princess but i love that you still  get the square shape but with softer edges in the cushion cut

here is mine πŸ™‚ hope it helps your decision.

@grapefruitlove: Mine is a solitaire πŸ™‚ Unless you mean like on a plain band? And that’d still be a yes. I love my ring and it is just what I wanted (i definitely loved the blingy band and still do)… but I have ocassionally thought how pretty rings with plain bands are because they don’t distract from the diamond at all. So yes, I’d totally go with the same diamond on a plain band.

I LOVE my cushion cut. It’s modeled after the Tiffany Novo design with pave diamonds in the band:

It sparkles like Nobody’s business even in low light. I’ve had strangers tell me how gorgeous it is and how much it sparkles.

Like others have said I love the more antique look and the softer edges.

I have a cushion cut centre & two princess cuts on either side. it’s gemstone & diamond though, so I’m sure you don’t really want to see it πŸ˜‰

Another vote for cushion. I love the rounded edges and the overall look.

@brox: Same here. I never really pictured myself with anything but a princess solitaire.

I have the Tiffany Novo which is a cushion cut and I’m in love! It seriously sparkles like no other.

I’m like above posters in that I love how it’s a little bit softer and more antique/classic looking.

I also love that its design is based off a 1920’s diamond style from Tiffany’s. Anything 1920’s related and I swoon πŸ™‚

Mine is princess.  I really wanted a cushion but after going to the store to select the diamond, the cushion seemed smaller and more expensive than the princess.  Also, the store had so many princess cuts and rounds to choose from, and there were only a few cushions that had to be delivered for us to look at.  The sales lady told me that the cushion would look rounder anyway once set in the prongs (i think thats nonsense lol), but what ultimately made my decision was the setting that I wanted and how it looked.

I LOVE cushion!

I’ll have a cushion cut sapphire (he has the stone.. just waiting for the ring!)

However, when we went ring shopping it seems that cushions are slightly harder to set and make secure. So make sure to get a good setting and a good jeweler, and perferably 8 prongs (two on each corner). They are more secure.. but they aren’t necessary.

mine is princess!  i was always really attracted to the sharp angles of it all.  the typical problem with princess is that they don’t sparkle as much, but mine is hearts and arrows princess cut, so it sparkles a ton.

I love my princess cut ring. It’s all I ever imagined in a ring when I thought about getting married.

@grapefruitlove – Thanks! I am going to get a separate wedding band.  we’re in the process of finding one, because the one that goes with this ring is ridiculously expensive and we can’t even see it before we buy it.  So, we’ve been shopping around, no luck yet.
