@grapefruitlove: Lol @ “to occupy myself, I have created drama in my head.”
Have you tried the cushion cut on? That will probably help you make the decision of whether it’s worth telling your SO about.
I like to look at cushions, but something about them makes me not like the idea of wearing one. What I do like though is a round cut diamond with cushion halos.
For solitaires, round is just so classic. To me its the only way to go. I would just make the shank and wedding band unique to set it apart.

I love cushion cuts. I also really like asher cuts. I used to really like princesses, in fact my original e-ring was a princess solitaire. They are beautiful, but they are literally everywhere.

Mine is a princess cut sapphire in a halo…….someday i hope to swap the centre stone for an asha/moissy , i would LOVE a diamond but they are too expensive, but for now i love my sapphire just as it is and i love the straight lines of the princess cut….

Thank you so much, i am always second guessing, wondering if i made the right choice , but i loved the setting, and it just happened to be a sapphire but i loved it anyway…..but i just keep wondering if it could be improved by switching stones?

I had a similar sitution. Before I started looking for rings, I always thought I wanted a round solitare on a simple platinum band. Once I started looking I thought i loved the princess cut, and from the cushions I had seen I felt they looked unintentional, like they weren’t sure if they were a round or a princess. After doing a ton of research and several visits to various jewelry stores, I fell in LOVE with the Tiffany Novo (square cushion cut with pave diamonds on the band). When I tried it on, I knew it was the one. I am now officially a bee in waiting as we have chosen my diamond and SO is taking care of the rest.
My advice, if he hasn’t already bought the ring, would be to tell him that you have been doing a ton of research online and that you still love the princess cut but you have learned about several other cuts as well and would like to take a look at them.

@HoneyBee27: As of recent, I highly suspect he has a ring. So here’s to keeping my mouth shut and hoping he makes this happen asap 🙂

I was stuck between round and princess but now i’m all confused thinking i might want a cushion cut. So many decisions to be made.
