Mine does not but I’d guess it’s not big enough to need the extra support.

The basket should not affect the brilliance at all. In a well cut diamond, the light enters from “the top” (the table/crown) and is reflected back out (assuming no poor light leakage due to a poorer cut).

An ideal/excellent cut can be put in a full bezel and still show tons of brilliance.

@Lacelibs:

Do you have v-prongs? If using prongs, those are really what a princess should be set with to protect the corners. As long as the corners are protected, you are probably fine.

The only other “safer” settings would be a half-bezel or a full bezel but that tends to be something you love or don’t love (I love!).

I also have a princess cut diamond from Blue Nile.  My setting is the petite cathedral pave setting, and it also has the “basket.”  It has never bothered me, and my ring is as sparkly as can be 🙂

@Lacelibs:  We really are 🙂  Here’s an actual pic of my ring (I didn’t have any profile shots though)

I have  a basket and I guess because of my halo, I have two supports that look like this )( on the sides facing me.

@Lacelibs:  it’s not, I have no clue why it came out like that on my phone. It’s white gold
