Mine’s a little smaller than what you’re looking for but maybe it will help anyway.

1.7 ct on a size 5.5

I think rounds are just so timeless and beautiful!

I have the style of ring you’re talking about but it’s a moissy so I won’t post.  That being said, round solitaire all the way!  Princess is a gorgeous cut, but there is just something about a round solitaire.

You could get a square cushion, it’s sort of a mix between the two

You should get whatever you want, but 2 ct princess has more of the weight in the bottom of the diamond. So the round appears larger on your finger! if that makes sense. 2 ct round is 8.0 mm.  2 ct princess is 7.5 mm.  Princess would have to be 2.5 ct to have the mm.  Just something to think about, if you prefer the look of larger stone.  Princess are beautiful, but 2 ct round on size 6 finger will knock your sox off!

ambernelson1:  ok twist my arm 😉 here is my 8mm unenhanced round.  Rose gold setting with white gold prongs.  I love it so much.  If you get moissy you will not regret it!

This is very much a matter of personal taste but you can’t beat the sparkle of a modern round brilliant. It is a classic will never date.

Mine is a 2.02. My love for it is indecent!

I like Princess, but Rounds are so classic and light return on them seems to be better – more sparkle.

Also, I was worried that the sharp edges of the princess would scratch my son or get chipped or damaged more easily than a round stone would.

Here is my 2.31 diamond on size 5 finger
