I need some advice. For years now (yes, YEARS) I have had my heart set on a 1ct princess cut engagement ring. Now that the time is growing closer, and I finally have found a setting I adore, I am starting to really love the round stones. I have provided a link to the setting below.
Advise please!!

I’ve always liked princess cut too, but in the end I chose round for it’s amazing brilliance! ๐ Also, imo, round is more classic and traditional. I think the ring you linked to is gorgeous!

I always thought i wanted a princess cut too but ended up with a cushion cut – its a good mix of the two BUT i do love a round diamond! there is just something so classicly beautiful about it. I voted round!

Personally, I prefer round diamonds. But both are beautiful!
I do think round diamonds are more classic looking, if that matters at all to you.

I always had my heart set on a princess, and then a clerk convinced me to try on a round stone. When I wouldn’t stop ooing and aahing, my Fiance was like: ” ok now you have me confused.” hahaha I strongly hinted towards that one and had it about a year later. It’s actually proven that since round has more facets, it sparkles more ๐ btw, that ring is gorgeous.

I love my princess cut solitare. It’s really a matter of preference: square versus round.

Honestly? I love the classic elegance of rounds and I have a princess cut. ๐ I didn’t ever plan on getting a princess but I fell inlove with a setting that had one in it and well DH the same thing in mind and I never told him until 3 days after he got the ring. It was weird and meant to be! Rounds also look larger than any other cut IMO. It’s just everyone around me, like 5 girls I’m close to, all have princess cuts. ๐ I feel like we all have the same ring.

Dammit, my bf is gonna kill me because I always change my mind, but that ring DOES look best with a round diamond (i think).

I’ve had my heart set on a marquise since I was in third grade (my mom would drag me around to jewelry stores a lot). When I found my ring (which has a princess cut), I fell in love with it, even though it wasn’t my dream cut. I’ve had it for probably a year and a half, and I’m still in love with it!
Go ahead and go with the one you love! You won’t regret it!

I have a 1 ct princess cut, and I love it. I wouldn’t change it, but I definitely agree that rounds (and some other cuts, too) end up looking a little larger than princesses of the same carat size. However, rounds are also generally quite a bit more expensive than princesses of the same size if everything else about the two diamonds is equal.

well, you can compromise and get a cushion cut =)
i personally like round over princess, but asscher is my absolute favorite. which is weird because it’s still a square shape… =)

Rounds look larger on your finger and sparkle more.
Personally i love Princess, Asher or Emerald cuts.

I’ve always wanted a princess, and that’s what I got. I never looked at anything else. Choose what you like! But don’t second guess yourself. That ring is beautiful, but a princess would be wonderful as well!
