We got our invites and inserts back today. They are BEAUTIFUL! I was so happy that I happen to over look a little something when we picked them up. THE PRICE! When we went to pay I wondered why it ended up being more then we calculated. FH even asked how and the lady said that we had 94 copies of the directions. Of course, still happy to see my invites I thought hmm 94 I must have messed up. FH kept laughing at me on the way home telling me that I messed up and didn’t calculate right….how can this be? I knew I hadn’t even bought 94 pages of paper to take to them but being on cloud 9 I didn’t even process this right.
Well this afternoon I counted and it was….THEIR mess up! We had 88 copies….BUT those 88 had been printed two on a page! So we should have only been charged for 44 copies and got charged for an extra 50.
OK OK it really isn’t that much money that we got over charged for but would you call the business and tell them they messed up and overcharged you? I feel the need to correct them more for the fact of the matter then the money.
Would you call or say F it?

$50 is a lot. i would go back in person. there’s not much they can do over the phone.
ETA: oops, it’s 50 copies, not $50. i would still go back for a refund.

@kitzy LOL yeah it was def not $50. If it was no question I would be calling them. I am really talking less then $10. I think for me it is the fact of the matter that they messed up my order and overcharged me. How do you add an extra 50 copies onto on order?

Did you set up the artwork or did they (did you make them 2up or did they do that)? If you did it and told them you needed 88 copies then I’d say it’s your error. But if you just gave them the art and told them you needed 88 total then I’d ask for a refund.

@camrie I set up everything and I just took in all the paper and said make these copies on this stack of paper. I never told them the number. I only gave the 44 pieces of paper though. I even sat down and counted out the copies to make sure I wasn’t wrong and there are 88 pieces of half cut pages (44 full pages).

Ooh, well I’d go back and ask about it if it’s not totally out of the way. Maybe they had a trimming fee on top of the copy fee and that’s where the extra cost came from. I’d see about getting an itemized recipt.

@camrie: I am leaving in the morning to go out of town for over a week. I am going to be sending FH down tomorrow since they aren’t far from the house. They did give me an itemized recipt and that is how I figured out that they charges us for 94 instead of 44.
