@ashleyr0512:  Well, I started out with a size 18 (January 2012) and it fit like a glove. I scheduled a fitting to add a one point bustle in early September (one month before my wedding) and it no longer fit! I ony lost about 10 lbs but it made a huge difference in how the dress looked. The alterations dept. wanted to work with my new-from-the-factory dress and take it in, but due to the nature of the lace and all the delicate layers, it would have been $65 PER section. So, I ended up taking the store sample in a size 16. It was filthy and had a few loose beads, but it was too late to consider any alternatives. It was a stressful situation. Make sure you try it on often as you’re losing weight. Don’t go any later than a month before your wedding for alterations.

Also, make sure you have someone really fluff the crinoline layers after you put the dress on the day of your wedding. I begged my mom or sister to do it before my ceremony but they neglected to humor me. Of course, the dress ended up laying alot flatter than I wanted it to.

I also reinforced the bustle and the hook and eye closure on the back of the dress. I wore a store sample, so it had gotten very loose being tried on so many times.

The dress held up beautifully through my day. It got a little hot underneath, even in october, but that wasn’t until we were through with dinner and started dancing.

Enjoy your day and rock that dress! I’d love to see pictures!Wink
