It worked really well for my in high school but when I tried it again in college, it made my face so raw and red.  I don’t really recommend it.

I have not used this product, however, I have looked into it.  Basically, the active ingredient is benzoyl peroxide.  This is the same ingredient that is in many over-the-counter acne medications that you can buy at any drugstore.

It tore my face up! Very red, tight and itchy for a few days and then massive breakouts. Wasn’t pretty.

I’ve heard it pretty much goes two ways with proactiv: it works amazingly well, or it works terrible and ruins your skin.

I’ve tried it, it was okay…it worked great at first but as my skin got used to it, it seemed to help less and less.  My sister used it too and it was the same for her too.  What worked better is Acnefree…it’s basically the same thing but you can get it at walmart, target etc.  It seemed to be a little stronger and I think it was a bit cheaper too

I’ve been using proactive for years and I really see a difference. The only downside is that once you start using it you can’t stop. Every time I’ve tried to discontinue it’s use my breakouts have returned and proactive was all that would fix it… Just prepare for it to be an ongoing purchase.

I’ve tried Proactiv, and while it worked at first, my skin got used to it and went back to its old ways 🙁

I’ve found following acne.org’s regimen has really cleared up my skin! What’s great about it is that you don’t have to buy his products – you can find the products at your local drug store. It’s all about how you use it.

I won’t recommend it.  I tried it and hated it and so not worth the money

I have oily skin but my cheeks get dry during the winter.  I don’t use any cleansers with benzoyl peroxide now, it’s just too harsh.

I’ve been “using” it for about two months now. I phrase it like that b/c there will be a week straight where I use it perfectly, then just forget for a few days and have to get back on track. When I actually use it properly, I notice a good difference, but it still has yet to clear me up *completely*. Maybe it will if I actually don’t forget for days at a time.

PS When I forget, it’s normally just me being too lazy to do the 3 step process, so I wash my face w/ some other regular one-step cleaner from Target, it’s not like I’m not washing my face 😉

It works really well for me. I have tried over the counter products for years and never noticed a difference. THis is the first time I have ever had clear skin!

I’ve tried it a couple of times and my skin can not tolerate it at all.  It just tore my skin up. Instead of acne bumps I had lots of really bad red marks.

@Tunacupcakes: I had that problem when I first started using it. I figured out that if my face is really moist for step 1 and I use a little more than they say to use, I don’t have that problem!

I’ve been using it for about a month and a half. I was doing great and I was really loving it until I got a facial last weekend.  The extractions caused my face to break out and I thought that wouldn’t happen when I was using proactiv.
