I think one of the MOH’s biggest responsabilities is supposed to be helping you pee. I forget who told me this.

From a dress physics standpoint, I think you’ll just have to take the time to take it off, unfortunately. Plan your pee trips accordingly.

Not a stupid question at all! My dress was fitted to just below my hips and I was stressing about this, too. But I came up with a plan and it worked pretty well.

I peed frequently before I put on my body shaper and dress, but had to go one last time before the ceremony began. I discovered the body shaper provided a slick surface, so I actually just shimmied my dress up above my hips and pulled down the body shaper to go. I didn’t have to take my dress off at all! My body shaper had shorts for the legs and only went up to just below my bust. Getting that thing back on and in place was a pain, but with help from my mom we managed to get everything back in order.

Afterward, I was so busy and caught up in everything that I didn’t have to pee again until later at the reception. At that point, I just shimmied my dress up again, stripped off the body shaper for good, and then pulled my dress back in place when I was done. Putting the body shaper back on was the hardest part, so I just left it off (and was much more comfortable for the rest of the night!)

I’m all for recommending the dress shimmy with fitted dresses now.

ETA: This may not work as well if you have an extreme mermaid style where the narrowest part around your thighs won’t slide past your hips. :c

@bunting:  hopefully that can work for OP’s dress! It probably does depend exactly what the shape of the dress is. I know it’d never work on my wide hips lol.

@BoiledPNut: It should work just fine, then! 😀 Also, if you haven’t already, you should read Mrs. Cola’s invaluable post on how to pee in your wedding dress. I found I didn’t need a helper in the stall, but my dress didn’t have an underskirt and wasn’t overly fluffy so I could easily gather up my train in one arm.

@MabelleBliss: Lol, I was so desperate I was like, “I am MAKING this work!”
