Hello once again lady Bees. I am still awaiting his ring, so alas, no proposal to him yet. As much as I wanted to do it just last night, I can’t risk the lack of presentation it would have without his ring, cheap and for show or not. Quick tidbit, he came to pick me up from work at 2 am, after I had a blowup fight with the average disgruntled postal worker, which if he didn’t apologize to me in person and in paperwork, he would have been escorted out of the building. He came to my rescue though, South Park pajamas and all, and let me rant the whole way home, and cuddled me till I passed out.
I get so sidetracted here. Back to the point. I have had concerns with wearing my ring. Hah, a ring I have tucked away and doesn’t even serve a purpose yet. Where I work, I pull gloves on and off frequently. Even with gloves, I leave with my hands black from dirt. Please for the sake of all that is holy, don’t touch your mail. It is filthy! On top of leaving work with filth incrusted into my pores, that place leaves my skin so thirsty for moisture that they are cracked from knuckle to finger tip, and peeling like I am a snake, No amount of lotion, soaks, and exfoliation fixes these ancient looking hands. Not only do they look terrible, they constantly burn or itch. Not exactly the modelesque hands a newly engaged gal dreams of. Plus with all the abuse my hands get, I can’t keepa nail long and strong to save my life. So dust, dirt, banging around, gloves, and my painful eyesore hands, I had to come up with a way to show my ring and that I am happily awaiting the day walk down the aisle.
I was scrolling around here, seeing when you all wear and don’t wear your rings. Showeing, dishes, gym, gardening, all common answers. If I follow along with that trend, which I am sure I will, I will never have my ring on my finger, which is very disappointing. I want to show her off, damnit! Until I find a job that doesn’t reak havoc on my poor fingers, I have come up with a solution to present my love and commitment. This is where your opinion comes in, ladies.
I have an extreme obsession with Pandora beads at this time. My mother gave me a black leather band with bright and colorful beads for my last birthday. It was the best gift she has ever given me. I do not wear it much though, once again, because of work. And also, because if any of you have one, you know the clasp is a little devil to get on and off, especially with nails that basically don’t exist. My mom is getting me the opener for Christmas, so my beauty can see the light of day more often.
The one I have posted here is what I created online, and am asking from my boyfriend (who I can’t WAIT to propose to) for Christmas. He know I asking for this, and he is getting this exact image when he goes to shotp. What he doesn’t know is that in the middle, where I left the space, is where my engagement will sit. Keep in mind, I am getting this to be long enough to be a necklace, but the online tool I used to create this didn’t have the longer band option. The two beads on each side of the open space are clips, that stay in place on the leather, that way my ring can sit comfortably in the middle without the risk of being damaged by the other beads clanking around. I obviously can’t quite show you what I am talking about, but this is my ring that will be on it. and I don’t plan on just stringing it on, but, using that looping knot that will hold it in place.
That is my idea to solve my problem of not exactly feeling comfortable wearing my engagement ring at work, or really anywhere for a while for that matter. What are your ideas on this? Do you have an undtraditional way to wear your rings? All feedback welcome as always.
