Well I think you are right that no matter where they live someone would be upset.  I personally wouldn’t like this either and would feel unsafe, especially if I was leaving late at night.

I don’t know what the NIMBY attitude, but I don’t have a lot of sympathy for people who committ sex crimes. I wouldn’t feel safe, either.

I work in a relatively unsafe area. It’s right by the airport, lots of factories, lots of shady characters. It’s never a bad thing to have your wits about you, especially if you leave late at night.

Ah, gotcha. I’ve heard the phrase, just not abbreviated. Not gonna lie, when i was looking to buy a home, we looked up sex offendors on neighborhood watch because no way would I live near one. My cousin has a handicapped daughter and a sex offender lives a block away. She says she sleeps with one eye open

I think their life should be ruined if they commited a sex crime.  But I also believe in they should be in jail for life or death penalty if serious enough and not out on the streets anyway.  It really doesn’t hurt to be cautious.
