That doesn’t make sense to me. I used to work for a printing company, and if customers had their return address to close to the “TO” address, then yes, the presort machine would end up sending stuff back to them. I’ve never heard of that issue if it’s on the BACK of the envelope.

I just did my friends bridal shower invites and my return was on the back, and none of them have come back to me.

That doesn’t make sense to me either. I just sent out over 100 Save The Dates, and only received 1 back in the mail for incorrect address. All of my envelopes also had the the return address printed on the ‘lip’ portion on the back. How big was your font for the return address?

I had something similar happen to me; out of 16 invitations, 5 came back the next day, with no indication as to why. My fiance brought them back to the post office to ask why, and they theorized that it might be because we had the return address in FRONT (in the corner where it belongs). *eyeroll* So they don’t know.

We had the post office send them again, and we got one of those back AGAIN! It was the invitation for fiance’s brother, so we just hand delivered it after that. The rest of them were delivered without further incident.

I am sure yours will get where they need to go.

alexam :  can you get some pretty stickers to cover them, and put the return address on the upper left corner on the front of the envelope?
