I’m having a hard time choosing the song for my bridesmaids/groomsmen to walk down the aisle to. I’m having a wedding outdoors and my DJ is doing the music for the ceremony as well. I really didn’t want to do any music that has words to it, so I’m choosing all instrumental versions of songs. I love the song Casting Crowns “Your Love is Extravagant” but I can’t find it in an instrumental version. So, I found alternatives. I liked “Love Never Fails” by Brandon Heath and “Storybook Love” from the Princess Bride soundtrack. I let my Maid/Matron of Honor listen to them to see which one she liked better and she said they both sounded really depressing and like you might hear these songs at a funeral or something like that. What do you think about these song choices?? What are you having your wedding party walk down to?

Casting Crowns – Your Love Is Extravagant
Brandon Heath – Love Never Fails
Mark Knopfler – Storybook Love
Hey I posted links to your song for easy comparison! I totally think you should choose the song YOU love. If it’s emotional for you and speaks to your heart and your Fiance likes it (if he’s part of the decision making), then go for it! I don’t think any of the three songs sound gloomy or depressing, they’re very romantic ballads 🙂 Personally I like Casting Crowns and Brandon Heath better than the Princess Bride song. I think both would make really great aisle music and I guess it’s just a contrast of the voices, the Heath song is a bit higher in octave while the Crowns song has a deeper timbre. I say go for it!
As for me, I’m torn between four songs! For the wedding party processional, it’s between two Elvis songs. We’re getting married in Hawaii so Hawaiian Sunset is very “theme” but my FI’s favorite Elvis song is Pcoketful of Rainbows. Hmmm
Elvis Presley – Pocketful Of Rainbows OR
Elvis Presley – Hawaiian Sunset
For the bride walk down the aisle, it’s two instrumentals: one is a Disney song and the other is Carpenters. Carpenters I have a much stronger emotional connection to, they are my mom’s favorite artist and growing up I listed to them so so much to the point where I heard this instrumental and I wanted to cry. However Fiance says the Disney instrumental is more “suited for an aisle walk” and more consistent with better flow. I still like Yester Once More :
Jim Brickman – Someday My Prince Will Come – Instrumental Version OR
Jim Brickman – Yesterday Once More

These are the songs I’m submitting to my pianist to see if she has the music or can get it:
Jeff Buckley – Hallelujah
Oasis – Wonderwall
Craig Armstrong & Jeffrey Michael – Love Actually (music from the Motion Picture)
I know at the very least she’ll have Butterfly Waltz, which I think is beautiful so that would totally work for me.
