I’ve been looking into processional orders and I have a feeling I’ll need some help from my Maid/Matron of Honor and fixing my dress before actual make my way down the aisle. The ceremony is outside and I have to walk down a couple stairs before getting to the aisle. It’s a bit of a walk, but I figured my Maid/Matron of Honor could hold my train and then rearrange it once I get to the bottom of the steps. Has anyone have their Maid/Matron of Honor carry their train before walking down the aisle? What would you suggest the Maid/Matron of Honor do to get back to the alter?
My only reference was what Kate Middleton did at her wedding, but I rather not have my Maid/Matron of Honor walking behind me lol

I haven’t looked into this at all, but my gut after reading the scenario you describe would be to just have her wait at the bottom of the steps after she fixes your train and then have the best man come meet her for their turn to recess. Or just turn around up at the altar and have her fix it then. It should just stay behind you as you walk down stairs or not, no?

duckgirl84: At the bottom of the steps, you face the aisle and the altar, the MOH fixes your train, then proceeds down the aisle before you. She doesn’t walk down the aisle, come back to adjust the train, then go back to the altar.

My Dad is walking me down the aisle and will be on train and veil duty haha
he will then return to my side to walk down 🙂

wonderlily: Hmm… that could work. You make a good point about the dress should be able to stay put walking down the stairs. Maybe I’m thinking to much about it. The stairway is narrow… maybe that’s what got me thinking the dress wouldn’t lay right by the time I stepped off…
