- Wedding: June 2012
I’ve been debating whether to have a staged first moment/look for photography on the day of our wedding. If we did this, we would probably do the bridal party and couple photographs before the ceremony. I’ve researched and seen pictures of this, I think that they are super sweet but I was curious what the pro and cons of this decision would be. I know that there are probably other brides out there who are torn about the exact same thing so I thought that I should post about it!
-A planned moment can provide better scenery, lighting, and timing.
-By getting out the tears and emotions before the wedding, the bride and groom can be more composed during the ceremony in front of friends and family.
-This allows more time with the guests after the wedding and reduces the wait time for the guests as well.
-It goes against tradition and some would say that it is bad luck.
-You may disappoint the parents who want the first look to be during the ceremony.
-Some guests may be offended/hurt/sad/disappointed that they didn’t get to witness that first look.
Here is a video discussing the subject:
Also here is a video and examples that really helped me make the decision to go ahead and do a “First Look” before my wedding!:
HOPE THIS HELPS ANY BRIDE WHO IS CAUGHT IN THE FIRST LOOK DEBATE! 🙂 HAPPY WEDDING PLANNING ALL!
