the deadline for my bm’s to order their dresses is the end of this month – like in 4 days! – and one of my bm’s sent me a text message that read:
“i didn’t get approved for the credit card because i’m too young and don’t have enough credit so i’ll try and have the money by next month”
[she’s talking about the credit card david’s bridal offers].
wellll, that sucks. i don’t know what to tell her – she’s my younger cousin. we picked out the dresses almost three months ago, purposefully so that all of the bm’s had enough time to save money (if necessary). my fsil went in to order hers about two weeks ago and the expected delivery for one of the pieces (the ensemble is three pieces total – separates top and bottom and a sash) is in october! while that’s still enough time to have alterations done, ordering next month (next month!) would put the expected delivery on her piece(s) in november (NOVEMBER!). granted, our wedding is on the absolute last day of the year (lol) and that’s still probably enough time for alterations; but that’s not the point! i had been reminding her for the last two and a half months to order her dress with enough time and she said she’d get it taken care of. arg. it just makes me nervous knowing she’s cutting it awfully close.
oh well. i guess there isn’t much i can do – if she doesn’t have the money, i can’t expect her to make it appear out of thin air. we’ll just have to wait ’til next month and hope that it (1) comes in with enough time for alterations, or (2) she’ll just have to wear it the way it is, lol. blah.
anyway… just thought i’d vent. i’m done now. 🙂
