It’s your big day and you should look and feel like a queen. If you guys aren’t spending the money on a big reception, why not spend a couple of hundred even if it’s just you two? I think it’s definitely worth it.

nextnorman:  I would! If it’s just you two and you’re not paying for a reception, splurge a little and pamper yourself 🙂

You should do what you want. I probably wouldn’t only because my guy prefers very minimal makeup and likes how I do my own hair (don’t think he would care for a fancy up do for example), and it would be most important to me that I thought I looked my best. But if you will feel great about professional hair and makeup then I think 200 is reasonable, and for a one in a lifetime event, why not!

Yep, I totally would, as long as I knew I could afford it 🙂 The pictures will last forever!

I am planning my second wedding.  I never ever wear makeup and my usual “do” is a ponytail.  I am getting hair and makeup done for the first time for my 10 person (immediate family only) wedding because 1) my skin doesn’t look as good as it used to and 2) because I want to look as good as possible for all the pictures.  Not spending much on the venue or dinner, but I want to look the best I can.  I am thinking it’ll be around $300, PLUS the trial.

I think you should go for it!

I am! It’s still our big day and I want all the experiences that go with it… just ️none of the guests.

Go for it!

My guy & I are eloping to Vegas (countdown is under 3 weeks now). It will be just the two of us so getting really great photos is important to us.

Having done over the top, theatrical makeup, I am more than comfortable doing my own makeup for the big day 😉  Plus it gives me a reason to splurge on some new goodies

But my hair is a whole other thing. I have let my hair grow out soooo long and have no clue how to style it. I really want it done up nice for our photos. So I am splurging on a hairstylist who will come to my hotel suite. The cost will be around $100 total but I think it is entirely worth it.

I ended up choosing the stylist by looking at reviews on Wedding Wire & Trip Advisor then going and looking at the various stylists websites & social media. 😉
