I’m not married yet, but our photographer said that she takes appx. 6 weeks to complete the editing and for us to have our photos. I think that’s pretty much standard..at least in my area anyway. We talked to a couple of other photographers before we chose her and all of them were around 6-8 weeks.

I guess it depends on what you are getting edited. We had an online preview by Monday following our Saturday wedding. Two weeks later, we had a DVD with all photos waiting for us when we came back from our Honeymoon. At the time, I thought that was normal but it seems my photographer was super on top of things.

thanks ladies feeling a bit better, i hadnt asked for anything to be done , so no black and white , no photoshop etc , old times you would wait 3 months as they got you in to pick the pictures then they did special effects and printed them, thought this new tech of digital cameras would be quicker lol
@slicey19: your photographer sounds awesome , 2 weeks how fab is that 🙂

@suzieq80: Even though your photographer isn’t doing “special effects,” every good wedding photographer will still have to go through and tone all the images for you. Editing definitely takes time, so be patient. Different photographers take different amounts of time to get photos back… it all depends on how busy their schedules are, and since we’re kind of in wedding season now, it’s quite possible your photographer has been slammed with business every weekend.

I want to say it was 2 1/2 to 3 months. I dd get 1200 pictures back though and a good chunk of them were edited.

2 weeks but then his very close friend is my colleague at work and I was able to keep asking if it was ready. We also had about 1500 pictures back and 50 edited ones

Our photographer said anywhere up to 12 weeks, depending on how busy they are. Our engagment pictures were ready in 5 days though.

Our photographer took 48 hours, including his touch ups. He was amazing!

I received 2 sneak peek photos after 6 days. Then, she blogged some more photos 2 days later. She just told me today I would get the rest in about a month.

We got our edited pics online about 5 weeks after the wedding. Then he sent us the DVD another few weeks after that.

It took 2 months to get the photos, which was actually a bit sooner than I expected. He did send us a link to an online slideshow of maybe 50 pitures around the 6 week mark which was a nice teaser for us. I agree with pps, it takes time for them to sort through and select all the photos (they don’t give you all of them), and then edit and process the ones they will give you.

It took 3 weeks to receive our 900 photos. and that was with asking her to wait to mail them as we were on our honeymoon. we did receive them all online while on our honeymoon then the CDs in the mail when we got home

Not married yet, but our photographer said 8 weeks 🙂

The photographer told me I’d wait no longer than 12 weeks, but we didn’t receive our disc with photos until 5 months (20 weeks) after the wedding. There was no editing beyond color correction, and to be honest I’m not sure she did that either.
