I’ve had 4 losses and now pregnant again at 7.5 weeks. Loss 3,4 and current pregnancy  I was on progesterone for. My 3rd pregnancy even on the progesterone I was spotting and my progesterone dropped as my body knew it was not viable. Loss 4 was a chemical (even on progesterone I bled quickly) this one my progesterone was been around 150 for rhe five betas I had over two weeks.

They said it’s a good sign that this pregnancy is healthier as my hcg was high too. Everything i’ve read and experienced has told me that progesterone may delay bleeding for a couple of days but it won’t make a huge difference to the time it takes if the pregnancy is not going to be viable. Congratulations and wishing so hard that this will be your rainbow!

booktea92:  Hi there. So sorry about your losses. I’ve had 2 losses and am currently on pregnancy #3. I was on progesterone for pregnancies 2 & 3 although 2 was a chemical. So far so good with this one as I’m 11+1 with no issues and baby is doing great (I check on my baby often with my doppler). For this one I’ve been on progesterone since after ovulation. My last prescription will take me to 17 weeks and I plan to use it until then although the doctor said I could stop at 12 weeks. Good luck mama!!

I had a MC at 6 weeks in August 2013. After some short cycles, OB put me on progesterone After ovulation. Got pregnant that cycle and Dear Daughter is now almost 19 months. Had my first PP period, got pregnant and again took progesterone. Had a MC again, even with the progesterone. Things took a bit longer to start bleeding, but I MC’d naturally. Got pregnant a cycle later and am now 16+4. I stopped the progesterone at just about 12 weeks, although the OB said I could stop earlier.

booktea92:  With my chemical I started bleeding the day after AF was due. Oddly enough my lines continued to get darker over the next week even after the bleeding stopped but I knew it was a chemical, I just didn’t feel pregnant anymore. I should mention that with that one I was taking the progesterone orally and I know that’s not as effective as sticking them up your hoo-ha. With my current pregnancy I buy applicators and stick them up there which I noticed a difference right away. Not as many symptoms and it never felt like AF was coming.

Your doctor is letting you stay on the progesterone until 12 weeks right?

booktea92:  Glad to hear you will advocate for yourself in staying on the progesterone until 12 weeks.

I am on the pills too. My doctor said they are more effective used as a suppository so that’s what I do.
