@LuluH:  To hold you off until you see a doctor, maybe you should go pick up some Progesterone cream seeing as it’s the holiday? Or maybe please your case to an urgent care doctor to see if s/he will order you a Progesterone level and have it copied to you so you can bring it to your OB’s office? Congrats again on your BFP!

@LuluH:  You can get it at like any health food store. Be sure you talk to them and get recommended a good one, I think it’s called the bioactive form? – some of them can increase androgens and you definitely don’t want that right now!

If going to an urgent care and possibly getting progesterone levels drawn will give you peace of mind, it’s worth it. TOTALLY worth it. =)

@LuluH:  FWIW, I had incredibly low progesterone when I MC’d (less than 1) and with my second they were sky high.  Does your doctors office have an on-call service, or an after hours line that you can call?  Mine does and I just asked that one of the doctors call me back.  If nothing else, they might be able to reommend the name of an over the counter cream that you can pick up at Walgreens or CVS.  Most doctors offices are very sensitive to the fact that once you’ve had a loss, you’re sense of urgency for answers in very heightened, especially at the beginning of pregnancy.

CONGRATULATIONS! Sticky baby dust dear =)

I found out I was pregnant 2 days after missing my period (a Tuesday evening). I went to the doctor 2 days after (Thursday morning), and had my bloodwork done. She called me that afternoon and had me come back in to start progesteron shots in the backside – they actually kept the office open for me to come in. Hubby came with me to learn how to do them and had to give them to me every 3 days until week 13ish. My levels were not so super low, but were concerning enough to her and I think she is pretty aggressive with these things b/c she works with a lot of couples with fertility issues. And I was not going to question her, I just wanted this baby to be OK! I don’t know too much about it, but at what point are they able to detect if you are or aren’t producing enough progesterone? I would go in to the doctor on Wednesday morning to get the pregnancy confirmed, check the progesterone, and ask more questions.

@LuluH:  congratulations! I hadn’t seen you got your BFP, what a great NYE present! When I had concerns about an ectopic rather than wait I contacted a reputable fertility clinic and had them do a progesterone draw and I had the numbers back in an hour. It was 84 at 4 weeks which was high enough to rule out ectopic. I tell you I slept well that night. I’d do whatever you can to get the blood draw. Thinking of you, best of luck!

I’m currently almost 10 weeks pregnant. When I was around 6 weeks, I had my progesterone drawn with my other labs, and it came back at 17, so they put me on progesterone suppositories right away as a precaution. So far, so good. I would definitely get your levels checked for peace of mind.

Also, I had no signs of my progesterone being on the low side – but my two periods off BCP only lasted a day and were very very light, so I had a hunch that my levels were off.

@LuluH:  congratulations!!! I didn’t start progesterone in my last pregnancy until 6 weeks and by then it was too late… So I started 2 days after O. But I agree with chuck, get some OTC stuff 🙂

I got my progesterone checked at 5w last week and it was low at 9.8. They immediately put me in progesterone that I have to put vaginally twice a day.

Hopefully you’ll hear from your dr. today, good luck!!
