I’ve read that progesterone can range from 10 – 47 in the first trimester in a healthy pregnancy, and it also fluctuates a bit.  Also, I’ve definitely had the straining-during-BM spotting, both with my son who’s now 2 and with my current pregnancy.  It’s totally a thing, and it happens because the cervix has lots of blood flow and is therefore super irritatable during pregnancy.  It’s truly nothing to worry about.  That said, if you’re worried, you can always ask for a follow-up of progesterone levels; if they ever are a little low, it’s such an easy fix.

My progesterone was 16.5 at 4 weeks 1 day. I was put on vaginal suppositories as precaution. Three weeks later at 7 weeks, 1 day my level dropped to 15. I was put on progesterone injections
