I started taking 100 mg progesterone suppositories 2x a day 3 days after ovulation. I am currently 5DPO. I have been having hot flashes, nausea, and a fullness in my stomach. Last night I could barely sleep. I don’t want to get my hopes up, but has anyone had these side effects and not been pregnant? I am not sure if it is the side effects of the meds or not.
Thanks for your input!

I haven’t had the hot flashes, but I just went off BC and have had fullness in my stomach and my sleeping has been way off. Super tired one day and can’t sleep worth a darn the next and for days on end. I would think it would just be the hormones as 5dpo wouldn’t be long enough to have too many symptoms I wouldn’t think, but that certainly doesn’t mean you aren’t pregnant. Good luck!

Yes I’ve had all those symptoms on progesterone (3 rounds of it) and never been pregnant. I never get those things typically. It does weird things to your body. 5DPO is way too early for true pregnancy symptoms. Hope it does turn out well for you though!

The progesterone caused me to be bloated and constipated therefore causing the fullness feeling in my stomach. I don’t remember having hot flashes or nausea but I remember not liking the progesterone suppositories! 5 dpo is still too early to have symptoms. I didn’t start having symptoms until at least after my first positive test! For what its worth i also ended up being pregnant the cycle i used progesterone suppositories and still didnt have any of those symptoms! Good luck to you!

It takes about 6-10 days for the ovum to implant, and then a couple more days before the placenta starts to form and HcG to be released. If you don’t have enough HcG to turn a test + it’s the effects of progesterone.

Hi, I know people say you can’t have symtpoms early but at 5-8dpo this cycle I started getting burning hot flushes and I am pregnant. I also didn’t start my progesterone until after my bfp so it wasn’t caused by suppositories. I just had a feeling I was due to how I was feeling. Good luck!
